things are moving along nicely with the promo for 'dropping like rain'…got a nice review from supajam yesterday…
Yesterday saw me filming and producing a video for one of the tracks from my forthcoming solo instrumental album 'Dropping like rain'…the track is called 'Burial#5'…it'll be up on youtube very soon...
Last night the Gathering Bees came round to record a few songs. We all had a very productive and fun evening and there was some great music being made. Here's a sneaky shot of Bryan.
beautiful day with the sun streaming through the window as i work...life is good!...track 11 of the 'dropping like rain' album is in the bag...onwards!...
'Dropping like rain' is the working title of the next solo album I'm currently working on. It is a totally instrumental work and so far I've pretty much completed 10 tracks which are very big and cinematic in the main. I think I'm aiming at 15 tracks but we'll see how we go. Having fun!
Tuesday this week saw a full days recording with Paddy Stratton which has taken our project much closer to completion. There were guitars, drums, vocals and much more recorded and we even had a visit from Pete Davies who features in the project on drums.
So, last night The Harvs started recording a new album! We've started before and then come to a grinding halt a few tracks in but I think we may finish this time. Liam played some blinding guitar and hit all the big notes on his vocal tracks. The foundations for 5 songs got put down in quick succession and today I'm starting to flesh out a few of my bits before getting ready for starting to record The Larks new EP tonight!
...followed by short, but nevertheless lovely, performances by Richard Goddard & Donna-marie Harvey!...great work on the mob chorus!...
A short, sharp session with Mr. Geoff Sharkey to start the day off well! Just a few lines of his distinctive gravelly voice and a certain track is so much the richer for it!
Great recording session here with Paddy Stratton on friday when we laid down the basis for the final album track. Spent the entire evening putting vocals, several mandolins and some banjo onto the track. Not long now before we can start unveiling the work we've been doing for the past year and a half! So looking forward to that!
I play live with The Harvs & also play several care homes in the area with my lovely friend Geoff Sharkey. Not only do people living with dementia get a lot out of it, we do too. Massively rewarding.
